Crude lower, gold higher after second-quarter GDP
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — Crude oil futures fell and gold rose after the government said U.S. growth decelerated in the second quarter, with the gross domestic product growing at a 2.4% annualized rate, below what economists expected. Open Question: Empire Earth wont Launch?
I just bought Empire Earth Gold BRAND NEW in box. Installation Was Perfect except that i was given a Serial Code for each disc, two in total. The regular game didn’t ask for a serial at all. Just as installation was complete and the DirectX was finished i made sure it was all done, i then put in the Expansion disc the Art Of Conquest and the installation went 100% fine and i was asked to input my serial for that disc. The whole game was installed including the expansion. I noticed Initially neither disc auto played and that i had to go into the DVD drive to launch the setup files. When i went to launch the original Empire Earth after i double click/press enter on the exe file the mouse cursor changes to an hourglass for 2 seconds then returns to normal and nothing happens at all. I check processes with the Windows Task Manager and the “Empire Earth.exe” is in the processes.

The Expansion Disc The Art Of Conquest also has the autorun problem and the mouse does the same action when i try to launch the game aswell.

ok, you might say the UPDATE YOUR DRIVERS nonsense but……

Unexpectadly enough the original game did start one time. I made the most of it knowing i might not be able to re launch it, i played for 4 hours to the last epoch, NOT ONE PROBLEM, i’ve played this game years ago and i play many PC games so i know nothing was wrong, the only problem with the game itself was on minimizing i’m not able to get back to the game, as a black screen results. SO basically apart from the minimizing problem the game works 101%, i even saved and loaded a game many times and the campaigns, map editor, settings and autosave works PERFECTLY.

I managed to get on the Expansion game one time too, NO PROBLEMS 101% just as the original game except for the minimizing problem. When the expansion doesn’t launch and i check processes it has the games Serial code in capitals as a process?

Usually i wouldn’t complain even if i had to click 20 times to launch it, but the game launches so rarely i can basically not play it.

RECAP:

Both games themselves work 101% when i do manage to launch them, minus the minimizing problem WHICH I DON’T CARE ABOUT, i can just save game and exit.

The games Don’t Autoplay in the DVD drive and don’t launch 99.999% of the time.

I received 2 serials, 1 for each disc and only the expansion asked for its serial. So i have an obsolete serial for the base game as i can play it completely without the serial.
(i will not give away the serial since to fix this problem the game might need it somehow or a patch etc might need me to use it, just in case sorry..)

My Pc is Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 , Intel Celeron E@1200 1.6ghz , 1gb RAM.
I know it’s a terrible PC but Empire Earth and it’s expansion work FINE when launched, GREAT GRAPHICS+GREAT FRAME RATE. No errors like streaks caused by video/graphic card issues
I’m pretty sure it’s maybe a disc drive problem or the autorun problem.

In short, why do both games not launch and why does my disc drive refuse to eject half of the time when the disc is in.

Any Help? Looking For Great Answer, Thank you so much in advance guys.
